What’s a headshot session like?
Sessions are typically 1-2 hours in length. We’re never in a rush so there’s a nice relaxed feel to each shoot. We try a ton of options, leaving you with a wide variety of images to build your portfolio. We aim to do around 5 looks, changing wardrobe, lighting and background to give you a diverse collection of proofs.
I shoot directly into my 27″ iMac. Every 5 minutes or so, we’ll take a look together and discuss your images. This is an essential way for us to work together, ensuring you leave with the best possible headshots.
After the shoot
Within 1 week of your session, all images will be made available to you in a secure, online proofing gallery, ready for you to make your selection. You’ll have a ton of images to choose from. All proof images are downloadable and have no watermarks. Often times, you can use these photos right away without any retouching. You are free to take your time narrowing down the photos, and consult with friends, family, your agent, or me to see which images best suit your needs.
What is retouching?
Photoshop! Every sesison comes with retouching. Your proof images mentioned above are going to look great, but we’re going to take your selections a step further. The key is to not over-do it. We’re going to strive to keep things natural, but a lot can be done in post to touch up and tweak the images so they’re looking just right. If you wake up with a blemish the morning of your shoot, it can disappear with a single brush stroke.
The final retouched images will be sent to you digitally within 1 week of your selection. You’ll receive 3 digital versions of every edited photo: 1 high resolution for printing, 1 8×10 crop with your name designed below the image and 1 web resolution for online use.
Save on your headshot
Do you have a friend who also needs a headshot? Before your shoot, if you get 1 additional person to book a session, you’ll both receive 10% off each package price. If you get 2 or more people to book, a 15% discount will be applied for everyone. Anyone you refer does not need to have their session at the same time as you.
In order to secure the discount, all parties must pay in full before the first person’s shoot day. Discounts do not apply to hair and makeup.
